The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice to a broad client base. You will manage your own projects, contribute to business development initiatives, and provide guidance to junior team members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied portfolio of planning projects from inception through to determination.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
- Undertaking planning appraisals and providing strategic planning advice.
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, consultants, and clients.
- Preparing reports, planning statements, and representations.
- Monitoring planning policy developments and advising clients accordingly.
- Supporting and mentoring junior planners within the team.
- Assisting with client relationship management and business development activities.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
- MRTPI qualification (or working towards chartership with significant relevant experience).
- Proven experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, or developer environment.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy framework.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Experience managing planning applications and client relationships.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for clients.
- A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach.
