We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join one of our defence clients with offices in Cheltenham. In this role, you will support customers in migrating and modernising mission-critical systems across AWS and hybrid cloud environments.
Working closely with experienced engineers and architects, you will help design and deliver secure, scalable solutions across cloud and on-premise platforms. Your work will improve system reliability, reduce operational costs, and increase organisational agility across national security programmes, using modern Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities:
- Design, build and implement AWS and hybrid cloud solutions for gov/defence industry clients.
- Define scalable and secure infrastructure architectures.
- Administer and optimise Linux and Windows-based systems in enterprise environments.
- Design and troubleshoot IP networking solutions.
- Automate deployment, configuration and maintenance processes using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tooling.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through DevSecOps practices and innovation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in IT systems design, deployment and administration, including leadership responsibilities.
- AWS certification at Associate level with hands-on experience delivering cloud-based solutions.
- Strong expertise in Linux and Windows system administration.
- Solid understanding of IPv4 networking including subnetting, routing (OSPF), VLANs and VPNs.
- Experience automating tasks using tools such as Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Puppet or Python.
- Due to the nature of work, you must be a sole British Citizen and be able to gain DV clearance.
