As a PSV Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and reliability standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on buses.
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults.
- Completing inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle defects.
- Recording maintenance activities and repair information using a tablet-based system.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with company and DVSA standards.
- Following all health and safety procedures and reporting any concerns.
- NVQ Level 2 or above in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, PSV Maintenance, HGV Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years' proven experience maintaining and repairing PSV or HGV vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Evidence of qualifications will be required.
- Candidates without an NVQ qualification will be required to successfully complete the IRTEC Service Maintenance Technician assessment during their six-month probation period.
- A PCV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
