Internet / Piracy Analyst (Internet Piracy)

As a leading provider of intelligence and consultancy to content owners worldwide, our client has provided valuable information and research to major film studios, games publishers, and software providers. Due to their current success, an opportunity has now arisen for an Internet / Piracy Analyst to join their team.
This role would suit a motivated and efficient candidate with a good all-round knowledge of the internet, particularly peer to peer technology, looking to develop their career within a successful company.
As an Internet / Piracy Analyst you will be responsible for providing research, analysis, monitoring, investigation, and consultancy to content owners throughout the world, including movie studios, television networks and the music industry.
Joining a widely respected piracy intelligence department, you will be tasked with pursuing ongoing research in addition to monitoring and maintaining internal systems. You will also analyse data and help to create new analysis tools when needed.
Your duties will include:
- Writing analysis for presentations or internal use
- Identifying, assessing and reporting upon specific items of interest
- Drawing results and trends from a wide range of data
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A good understanding of general internet technologies, protocols, and services, such as http and html, IRC and Twitter
- Practical experience of using, peer to peer technologies such as BitTorrent and eDonkey
- A good understanding of web-based piracy arenas
- The ability to produce succinct analysis
Additionally, as an Internet / Piracy Analyst you should be able to work on your own initiative in designing solutions or tackling problems. A flexible attitude combined with the ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new internet sites, services and tools is also key.
Although not essential, previous consulting experience would be of benefit to your application. A degree (or equivalent) would also be advantageous but by no means necessary.
